Teleport

Train travel is probably the closest thing we have to teleportation. You don't have to worry about whether the machine works, about the cost, maintenance, registration, or even about maneuvering the thing. You just buy a card and hop on from the station, tune out and do whatever you want, and get off where you need to. Plonk. There you are. The only difference between classical star trek style teleport is the waiting time!
